How a session works here
A viewer working alone still needs someone else to hold the target. In Viewer 001, the app is that someone. It holds the target, keeps you blind, routes your sealed work to blind judges, and releases feedback only when the protocol allows it.
The flow
- Start
- You open a session and receive a target ID. The start is an explicit action with a recorded timestamp. The ID is random and says nothing about the target.
- Capture
- Record impressions as they come: strokes on the canvas, descriptors, or photos of your paper worksheets. Log atomically, one impression at a time, without interpreting. Gestalts first, details later. Undo hides a stroke from the drawing but keeps it in the record; what you crossed out is still part of the session.
- Seal
- Submitting seals the session. The record becomes immutable. Nothing can be edited, added, or deleted. If you remember something afterward, you can attach a note, but it is stored separately and excluded from judging.
- Judging
- Your sealed session enters a queue where peers rank it blind against candidate images.
- Reveal
- Feedback unlocks once enough peer judgments have been delivered and a short delay has passed, typically two to three days after the seal. You then see the target and how your session ranked.
Why feedback is gated
Feedback is the last step of the protocol, always. Two reasons.
First, feedback given while a target is still being evaluated contaminates everything after it. Once you have seen the target, you can never look at that session blind again.
Second, evaluation belongs to someone who is not you. The viewer has no way of knowing what is right, and scoring your own work retrains the exact habit the practice exists to remove: jumping to conclusions. Self-judging is the single most damaging habit in training, which is why the app never asks you to score yourself.
The deferred reveal is not friction. It is the protocol.
The manual describes the controls. The instrument enforces them.
